Taking Educ422 will be wonderful for me. I have everything Mac and feel like I am not taking advantage of all Mac had to offer.... because I don't know how to! Even today my friend showed me a TON of new things I had no idea my iphone could do.
When I first started at CSUSM I did not yet discover my love for teaching and education so the COE had no impact on my choosing CSUSM. The Mission Statement of the COE at CSUSM emphasizes its practice is to, "demonstrate a commitment to student centered education [and] diversity." This statement is so important to me- it focuses on the student's needs for a successful and educational experience and that includes embracing diversity. All students in a population are different, they have different needs, different ideas, different ways of thinking and they all need to be validated. Some teachers in the profession do not embrace this diversity and that is why I am a part of the COE, I want to be a teacher that offers an environment for educational success.
Hi Lauren!
ReplyDeleteThat is awesome that you studied in Spain for a semester! I don't think I could go for that long! I just came back from Europe this break for 3 weeks but I didn't make it to Spain, so that just means I will have to go back! I went to London, Paris, Florence and Rome which were absolutely amazing. Its nice to meet you!

Hi Lauren
ReplyDeleteI love the picture of you in Venice! I was lucky enough to back pack through Europe with my sister right after I graduated--literally right after, I was on a plane the day after commencement--and Venice was one of the places we visited. I was considering doing an internship in Spain, so I'm interested to know what you thought about your own experience. Which company did you go through?
Lauren,
ReplyDeleteGOOD for you for studying abroad in Spain! I just came back from Florence, Italy. I am so glad you see the importance in traveling and experiencing new ways of life!
